Police have confirmed that the bus vandalised at the Fairy Pools was in fact transporting youngsters taking part in a leadership course.

The incident happened on Monday afternoon (Feb 06) and the cost of the damage, to windows, is thought to run into hundreds of pounds.

in a statement to the BBC, Portree-based officer Steven Turnbull said: "The bus was not occupied at the time, however, had been used to transport children from the central belt to Skye for a leadership course.

"This disappointing incident understandably had a negative impact on their experience."
