A worldwide Rotary initiative has resulted in every club planting trees for the good of the environment.

The Isle of Skye Rotary Club received 420 saplings from the Woodland Trust Scotland and, after joining forces with Broadford Primary School and the local community, planted them at Broadford Community Campsite.

John Taylor, Vice President of the Isle of Skye Rotary Club, told The Skye Times: "The final 220 trees went in last Friday.

"Thanks are due to the Woodland Trust for the trees provided free by them in a nationwide initiative and also to all who helped put them in namely the children, Rotarians and members of the local Community Company.”
