The crew of two boats worked together to rescue a man overboard today (Monday 16 July.)
The man on a fishing vessel fell overboard into Loch Hourn.
After responding to a Mayday broadcast from the Coastguard, another nearby fishing vessel raced to the scene to assist. Working together, the crew on both vessels were able to haul the man out of the water.
The man was winched on board the Coastguard helicopter and taken to Broadford landing site where he was transferred into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Stornoway Coastguard helicopter and Mallaig RNLI both attended the scene.
James Instance, Duty Controller for HM Coastguard, said: "We’re pleased that in this situation the crew were able to take action by recovering the man from the water. We wish him a speedy recovery."
