A new record was set at the Quiraing 10k race today (Saturday 11 August.)

The previous record of 31 minutes and 2 seconds was beaten by Hugh Campbell, with his time of 30 minutes and 14 seconds.

The race formed part of Uig Gala and saw runners tackling one of Skye's many scenic 10k runs in order to claim the trophy.

The first lady was Sarah Jamieson with a time of 45 minutes and 14 seconds.

In second place overall was Dean Macleod, who completed the run in 35 minutes and 49 seconds.

Matt Deamer claimed third place with his time of 38 minutes and 15 seconds.
