Two people have been charged in connection with the alleged theft of a charity tin from the Uig ferry terminal.

The collection tin was reported stolen shortly before 3pm on Tuesday, August 14.

The tin was subsequently recovered in the Portree area.

A man, 41, and a woman, 44, have been charged in connection with the incident.

Constable Chris Tait said: "We are grateful for the support of the CalMac staff at the ferry terminal in Uig which has helped lead to a quick recovery of this item.

"We are committed to tackling acquisitive crime on Skye and anyone with concerns about suspicious behaviour is asked to call 101 to report it to us."
