NHS Highland are looking to recruit a full time out of hours GP for Skye.
The post, which carries a salary in the £86,000 - £104,000 bracket, would be based at MacKinnon Memorial Hospital however there would also be duties in Accident and Emergency role covering both the Broadford unit and ortree Hospital in conjunction with GP colleagues and nursing staff.
In their advert NHS Highland say: “As a member of our Rural Practitioner team, you will be based on the Isle of Skye in MacKinnon Memorial Hospital. MacKinnon Memorial Hospital in Broadford, is 8 miles from the Skye Bridge.
“Your work will be an exciting amalgamation of all your previous experience but in a magnificent rural setting. You will be involved in running a unique Community Hospital providing Intermediate Care to admissions from colleagues across Skye, Lochalsh and South West Ross.
“Full time working is 40 hours per week, on a rota shift system involving cover for the A+E and in-patients in the Mackinnon Memorial Hospital and the Out of Hours Treatment Centres in Broadford and Portree.
“This will involve a mixture of out of hours and daytime work. Accreditation in general practice is required (GPST), and prior experience in anaesthetics and inpatient care would be advantageous but training will be provided by attachment to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness and other hospitals as required.”
