Lifting world records just comes naturally to Skye’s David Hearn and now he’s out to do it again!
At the age of 76, David continues to amaze and while he is already a European champion and holds three world records this week-end he will be in Wales as he takes on all-comers in trying to add the World Single Lift Championship to his formidable tally.
Over three days the senior citizen, with a real zest for life, will push himself to the limit has he attempts to take the top title.
What makes David’s success even more remarkable is that it wasn’t until the age of 73 years that he actually took up the sport.
David from Hill Place in Portree said: “I did a lot of running when I was younger but I got old and I got slow. I was in the gym one day and a guy said I should go for it, so I thought why not.
Since then David has won no less than 10 trophies in his age category and competes under the auspices of the World Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation.
